Taylor Wessing Irish Photo Prize 2026

I’m deeply honoured to receive the inaugural Taylor Wessing Irish Photo prize. Many thanks to the judges, Taylor Wessing, Business to Arts and Photo Museum Ireland.

With the winning entry. Photograph by Leon Farrell.

The image comes from EDGE. This is a body of work which is a personal response that bears witness to the experiences of people seeking asylum being forced into homelessness by State policy. It was made in the hope that we may more readily offer welcome, protection, and dignity to those most in need.

EDGE 53, 2025

The exhibition’s theme is Community, and it’s a testament to the very strong state of contemporary photography in Ireland. It’s showing at Photo Museum Ireland until May 24th.

With the other prize winners: L-R; Salem Anowe Chukwuezi, Judges Selection Winner; Patryk Gizicki, Bursary Winner; Laura Dunwoody, Judges Selection Winner. Photograph by Leon Farrell.
