Work on Walls

I’ve been really happy to get some of my work publicly exhibited this year, especially in the current circumstances. It always feels like the work doesn’t fully exist until it’s on public display of some kind.

Post-State, Flag No. 6. This is an image from an ongoing work-in-progress, which was selected for exhibition at the Royal Ulster Academy’s annual show. It’s on view between October 29th 2021 and January 9th 2022. I’m also very grateful to the Arts Council for supporting this project with an Agility Award.

This portrait of musician Breanndán O’ Beaglaoich is part of a permanent installation of portraits of artists-in-residence at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris. It launched in November as part of Paris Photo. You can see a gallery of the work here.

This is “Bulloch Harbour”, which was exhibited at the 2nd Annual Íova photography show in Dublin and as one of the pop-up exhibits outside Red & Grey Design in Portobello.

This portrait of Ivana Bacik TD was part of “Someone’s Daughter” an exhibition at Photo London with portraits by Wendy Carrig, Nick Knight, Nadav Kander and many others which aims to re-frame women in the criminal justice system.

This giant blow-up of a film contact sheet was auctioned in aid of Outhouse Dublin, and is now up on its owner’s wall in Stonybatter.

Other personal projects I’ve worked on this year are in this gallery, including a short film made for the Tyrone Guthrie Centre.
