En Résidence

This project is a commission from the Centre Cultural Irlandais in Paris to make portraits of artists-in-residence, who stay and work in the centre for a number of months. It was launched as part of Paris Photo in November 2021. Fourteen images have been installed permanently around the winding 17th century staircase in the main building, and more will be added over the next while. Prints are available, framed or unframed, in an edition of 4 & 2 AP. For details please get in touch via this link.

From the CCI’s catalogue: Well-known as a screenwriter and filmmaker, Conor Horgan is also one of Ireland's great portrait photographers who encapsulates the singularity of ordinary folk, performers and world leaders alike. Following his residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in 2017, Conor based himself in Paris for the next three years capturing the city and its inhabitants. CCI commissioned him to return regularly to create a suite of portraits of our artists in residence. This beautiful and perceptive body of work is exhibited on CCI’s main historic staircase as testimony to the hundreds of artists who have developed ideas and digested daily life in the capital as they went up and down its well-worn steps.
